Fitness & Wellness

Throughout all Rec Sports facilities, our Fitness & Wellness program hosts fitness classes designed to help you decompress and strengthen your mind and body. Classes include pilates, step, cycle, and more! Fitness classes are programmed to cater to all intensity levels so you can get a full workout experience! With Fitness & Wellness, you can start your day calmly with sunrise yoga or end the day with a boxing bootcamp!

All Group RecXercise classes scheduled after 1pm on Friday, April 26, are canceled due to the Rec Sports Student Appreciation Banquet.

Tuesday, April 30

All Group RecXercise classes after 1pm are canceled for the Fitness & Wellness Student Appreciation Banquet on Tuesday, April 30.

Group RecXercise

Group RecXercise classes are drop-in fitness classes.  See below for the schedule of classes and information regarding class passes. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Miranda Price at mprice@rec.tamu.edu.

Participants are required to sign up for any class prior to the start of any class to guarantee a spot. Check-in concludes, and doors are securely closed 5 minutes after the initiation of a class, ensuring all participants are safely and adequately warmed up. An All Access Pass includes ALL RecXercise classes, $5 classes include all cycle classes and all classes that fall between 4pm – 7pm. All other classes are FREE!

Specialty Classes

Registration is required before attending any Specialty Class and will open on Sunday, Mar. 10, for package 2. Once a specialty class is full, you can reach out to Member Services to get put on the waiting list. You will be contacted via email if a spot opens up for you. Lastly, once you register for a class and time, you cannot move into a different time slot if that time slot is full.

Download the Rec Sports app and sign up under the ‘Fitness & Wellness’ icon to register for a class. Schedules are subject to change.

Pilates Reformer

Derived from the rich conceptual sequence developed by Joseph Pilates, participants will engage the mind and body to execute exercises on a Reformer. These exercises involve the whole person while bringing attention to breath, proper form, and efficient movement patterns. Focused on strength, balance, and stability, this class creates dynamic challenges that will elevate your practice!

Boxing Bootcamp

Are you ready to unleash your inner athlete?! Our nationally certified group fitness instructors present an authentic boxing program that includes training on the heavy bag, speed bag, and Boxmaster, as well as full body conditioning exercises. This workout will help build strength in your arms, legs, back, core, and help to improve your cardiovascular endurance and self-confidence! This progressive program is suited for all fitness levels. Gloves and wraps required.

REFUND POLICY:  No refunds will be given for All Access RecXercise passes. Refunds will only be given for one class passes if submitted within 24 hours or if a class is canceled or changed by Rec Sports. A partial refund of 80% is available before the start of a package for specialty classes, bootcamps, or programs. Exceptions – If a participant becomes ill or injured, an 80% refund is potentially available if a doctor’s note is provided. All refunds will be approved or denied by the Assistant Director of Fitness & Wellness or the Director of Fitness & Wellness.

Training with a Menstrual Cycle

Does your cycle affect your workout routine? Do you truly understand what happens each month? Come debunk the myths around training as a female and understand your hormones better. De-Stress Fest

De-Stress Fest is an event held by Rec Sports in collaboration with other departments and organizations on campus that is centered around promoting mental health awareness by providing different activities that can help reduce levels of stress. These activities are usually movement based, educational based or activity based. Each booth focuses on a unique skill or tip that helps students reduce stress levels.

Rock It Out

Join Rec Sports, University Health Services, and the Office of Campus Enrichment and Sustainability for our Rock It Out event. There will be a chance to decorate a rock and place it around campus to inspire others that we are in this together. Come ready to decompress, relax, and learn some helpful tips for taking care of yourself during your test weeks. Join us for a fun time filled with rock decorating, snacks, tips & more.
