| General Statement of Duties
The MarComm Project Manager I is responsible for assisting with project management tasks within the MarComm team, primarily using the Ravetree project management system. This part-time, student-only position ensures content and projects are organized, staff are on track to meet deadlines, and physical marketing materials are prepared and maintained. Additionally, this role will provide a weekly report each Monday outlining the tasks assigned to each employee and the status of current projects, as well as present bi-weekly reports during MarComm meetings. This position reports to a full-time MarComm staff member.
Typical Responsibilities
- Support the MarComm team by organizing and managing content within the Ravetree system.
- Regularly remind staff of project deadlines and ensure assignments are completed on schedule.
- Create and distribute a weekly report each Monday detailing the tasks assigned to each employee and providing the status of all current projects.
- Present project status updates and progress reports during bi-weekly MarComm meetings.
- Trim, cut, and laminate printed materials as needed for events, promotions, and internal communications.
- Maintain a structured digital and physical workspace to improve workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with student and professional staff to ensure project expectations and timelines are clear.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the MarComm team.
Experience and Abilities
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep content well-organized.
- Maintain high standards for project completion and physical content presentation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and willingness to learn Ravetree project management software.
- Proactive in following up on project statuses and assisting staff in meeting deadlines.
- Experience with or willingness to learn trimming, cutting, and laminating printed materials.
- Ability to compile, present, and discuss project status reports in a professional setting.
Training
- Training will be provided by a Rec Sports MarComm Team Member. No certifications are required.
- Stay current with all required state training
Environmental Conditions
- Primarily indoors at the Student Recreation Center, with tasks involving both desk work (project management) and hands-on work (content preparation).
Pay Scale
- In accordance with the Department of Recreational Sports Part-time Worker Pay Scale, the MarComm Project Manager I will be classified at a starting rate of $11.60/hour (Pay Scale “B”). Merit-based pay increases are available after four months of service, contingent upon exemplary performance.
