Specialty Classes vs. Group RecXercise: What’s the Difference?
Story by Mason Kautz
As you begin perusing through our Rec Sports app to sign up for different programs at Rec Sports, you may notice that some names are quite similar to others. Never fear! These similarities are easy to understand once acquainted with the library of programs offered at Texas A&M Rec Sports.
Specialty Classes
Specialty fitness classes allow you to sign up for a class that is structured in one multi-week package. All classes within a package are included when you register.
For example, if an 8-week boxing class is available as a specialty fitness class, registration will be for all eight weeks of that class. The class may be progressive, meaning each class will build upon the one prior. This granular approach will help you build confidence in new skills acquired during the class!
Group RecXercise
For those that need a bit more flexibility when signing up for fitness classes, Group RecXercise is for you! This drop-in based option gives you the opportunity to register for one individual 30-minute, 45-minute, or hour-long class!
We understand that college life can be crazy, so Group RecXercise classes are a perfect way to accommodate a crazy schedule and develop your fitness goals!
In Summary:
Specialty fitness programs are structured over the course of a few weeks while Group RecXercise classes are one-time opportunities to squeeze a fitness class into your crazy schedule!
