Five Things To Do In Between Classes
Explore what’s available at Rec Sports when time is short!
Whether you have a free hour between classes or finish an exam early, there’s plenty to do at Rec Sports when you only have an hour or less!
- TABLE TENNIS
Table tennis brings the fun of playing a game without the hassle of breaking a sweat, making it the perfect pastime for you and your friends in between classes! The Student Rec Center is equipped with multiple table tennis tables for Rec Sports members, and you can even rent paddles for free from the equipment desk! Keep your break casual with a few rounds of table tennis at the Rec!
- PICK-UP BASKETBALL GAME
Sitting through lectures can be draining. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to get active once classes are over, including pick-up basketball throughout campus! At the Rec and Southside Rec Center, you can find basketball courts to practice your free throws, three-pointers, or organize a pick-up game with your friends! Rent a basketball or bring your own, our basketball courts are conveniently located near you!
- WORK OUT IN THE STRENGTH & CONDITIONING ROOM
Maybe you want to hit a new PR. Maybe you’ve never picked up weights before and want to try. Maybe you saw the latest superhero movie and have a new gym inspiration. Fortunately, strength and conditioning spaces can be found at each of our main three Rec Sports facilities! Whether it’s the Rec, Southside, or Polo Road Rec, you can find plenty of strength and conditioning equipment ready to use! Our attendants are also on standby to help with equipment rentals or to answer your burning questions!
- GROUP RECXERCISE CLASS
In any given week, our Fitness & Wellness program hosts nearly 100 Group RecXercise classes throughout campus, including yoga, Pilates, dance classes, cycling, and much more! Most classes are 45 minutes or less, making Group RecXercise the perfect avenue for drop-in recreation! Check out our Rec Sports app for a full list of RecXercise classes at Texas A&M!
- SOLVE A BOULDERING PROBLEM
Rest assured; this has nothing to do with math class. At Southside Rec and the Student Rec Center, you can scale bouldering walls and their various routes, called problems. This inclined workout is a far cry from the traditional workout, and mastering these problems is sure to elevate your day! Best of all, problems change throughout the semester, giving you the opportunity to come back to the Rec for a brand new experience!
