Upcoming Events & Trainings

  • Strengthen, stretch, balance, and clear your mind in the GARDENS! Classes are geared towards fitness enthusiasts who want to learn and practice Hatha Yoga. Yoga mats are first come first serve. This FREE class will take place in the pavilion at the beautiful Leach Teaching Gardens on campus every Monday and Thursday morning at 6:30am.

  • Nineteen Group RecXercise classes are FREE all day on Thursday, October 31st, Halloween! It’s your chance to bring a friend and have a fun, scary, and special workout! Dress up if you like, but definitely come celebrate with us! Check out the schedule on our website recsports.tamu.edu

Become a Schwinn Cycle coach in this interactive training taught by Lucy Waite, Schwinn Master Trainer. The class covers bike fit, cycling science, physiology and biomechanics, and proper riding technique.   • Attend any regularly scheduled indoor group cycle class during the week of November 14th and help us log our mileage to see if we can BTHO UT Rec Cycle classes in highest total miles! Check our Group RecXercise schedule online or in the Rec Sports Guide to find out the days and times of indoor cycle classes. Cycle classes will be FREE this week only, although owners of an Unlimited Class Pass will get priority seating.

Description: Contemporary Dance is an expressive and popular format that integrates dance technique with artistry. Come learn choreography that will allow you to enhance your dance skills, release stress, and improve your fitness. Prior dance experience is recommended but not required. Description: Pilates is a chance to train with a nationally certified instructor who will facilitate a cumulative learning experience focused on your goals. Exercises with props such as resistance bands, Pilates rings, stability balls, and much more will be used for full-body toning. Description: Come experience energetic and fun weekly lessons with our experienced hip hop instructor. This class is designed for the beginner Hip Hop dancer who would like to advance their ability. Description: This self-defense class is taught by a certified Smartsafe instructor. Women Warriors Self Defense is perfect for students and staff looking to reduce uneasy feelings and become more confident in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Class meets once per week for 8 weeks. Description: Take advantage of this rare opportunity to train under our highest certified and most experienced yoga instructor. This level 2 Hatha Yoga class will focus on advanced variations of basic poses. There will be a special emphasis on level 2 skills such as hand & arm balances, binding, as well as revolved poses and inversions. Previous yoga experience is strongly recommended. Description: Take your Pilates practice to the next level with Pilates Reformer. Derived from the rich conceptual sequence developed by Joseph Pilates, participants will engage the mind and body to execute exercises on and off of the Reformer that involve the whole person while bringing attention to the breath, proper form, and efficient movement patterns. Boxing Bootcamp

Are you ready to unleash your inner athlete? Our nationally-certified group fitness instructors present an authentic boxing program that includes training on the heavy bag, speed bag, and Boxmaster, as well as full-body conditioning exercises. This workout will help build strength in your arms, legs, back, and core, and help to improve your cardiovascular endurance and self-confidence! Bootcamp

Designed to take your fitness to the next level. This outdoor BootCamp will meet two days per week with activities such as running, power-walking, plyometrics and cardiovascular drills, and resistance training. BootCamp meets in the Rec at Member Services.

Barre Bootcamp

Barre bootcamp is an invigorating and empowering workout with a focus on barre basics and proper resistance training techniques.
