Upcoming Events & Trainings

Oct. 1 – 5; All cycle classes are FREE

Attend any regularly scheduled indoor group cycle class during the week of Oct. 1 and help us log our mileage to see if we can BTHO Kentucky cycle classes in highest total miles before the big game on Oct. 6! Check our Group RecXercise schedule (see Group RecXercise tab on this page) or in the Rec Sports Fall Guide to find out the days and times of indoor cycle classes. Cycle classes will be FREE this week only; owners of an Unlimited Class Pass will get priority seating.

Wednesday, Oct. 31; All classes are FREE

Nineteen group RecXercise classes are FREE on Wednesday, Oct. 31 – Halloween Day. It’s your chance to bring a friend and have a fun, scary, and very outrageous workout. Dress up if you like, but definitely come and be a part! Check out the schedule of classes on the Group RecXercise tab on this page or in the Rec Sports Fall Guide.

Sunday, Nov. 19; 9am – 6pm

Become a Schwinn Cycle coach in this interactive training taught by Lucy Waite, Schwinn Master Instructor. The class covers bike fit, cycling science, physiology and mechanics, and proper riding technique. Register by contacting Anna Taggart at 979-845-4792 or ataggart@rac.tamu.edu.

Thursday, Dec. 6; 3pm – 6pm

Second annual event at the Rec to give students a chance to de-stress, both physically and mentally, before their final exams this fall. A diverse range of fun and FREE events will be offered including fitness classes like yoga and boxing, personal training workout demos, arts and crafts, coloring, puppies, cooking demos, and MORE! This event is a celebration of all your hard work and success throughout the semester!

Description: Contemporary Dance is an expressive and popular format that integrates dance technique with artistry. Come learn choreography that will allow you to enhance your dance skills, release stress, and improve your fitness. Prior dance experience is recommended but not required.

A perfect way to bring a little grace into the stressful college lifestyle.

Description: This beginner class will teach graceful arm and hand movements, undulations, isolations, and hip rotations, with a concentration on abdominal strength. Description: Tribal Fusion Belly Dance is a modern, Western form of belly dance which was created by fusing American Tribal Style belly dance and American Cabaret belly dance. Movements from many other folkloric and classical dance styles are used as well. Some examples include ballet, jazz, burlesque, hip hop, Bollywood, etc. This class will get you moving belly dance style to all kinds of music! It will focus on isolations, undulations, pops and locks as well as adding a theatrical element to the dance form.

Boxing BootCamp

Are you ready to unleash your inner athlete? Our nationally-certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors present an authentic boxing program that includes training on the heavy bag, speed bag, and Boxmaster, as well as full-body conditioning exercises. This workout will help build strength in your arms, legs, back, and core, and help to improve your cardiovascular endurance and self-confidence! This progressive program is suited for all fitness levels.

A nationally certified group exercise instructor or personal trainer will come to your residence hall, organizational meeting or department for a private class, special event or educational lecture.
