Indoor Climbing Facility

indoor climbing facility

The Texas A&M Indoor Climbing Facility was one of the first free-standing climbing walls located on a college or university campus in the country, and in 2009 we renovated it to make it even better! Toprope climbing, bouldering and lead climbing are offered to climbers who have passed a skills check and are qualified for the activity. In addition, our experienced and knowledgeable student staff teach a variety of clinics and classes to enrich your climbing experiences.

Climbing is a dynamic sport that offers something for everyone of any ability level. If you can climb a ladder, you can climb the Wall! Our ever-changing array of climbing routes range from beginner to expert level and our student staff change them on a monthly basis to keep your experience at the climbing wall fresh.

Our helpful student staff is happy to administer skills checks anytime during recreational climbing hours. Orientation classes are taught Monday through Friday at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 pm. Participants must fill out a waiver. Bouldering Wall

Drop by any time the Rec Center is open to boulder and work on your strength and flexibility on our Bouldering Wall, adjacent to the Weight & Fitness Room. Shoes and chalk can be rented at Equipment Etc. We ask that you read and follow all posted rules and regulations. Boulderers must sign a waiver and watch a video at the Equipment Etc. desk or the ICF desk before climbing. A hangtag pass will be issued for climbing.
