Handbook

HOW TO SIGN UP A TEAM:
All entries for team sports, individual and dual sports and special events are
handled at the Member Services Desk, in the main lobby of the Student Recreation
Center. Here’s all you need to do to sign up:

1. Complete the appropriate entry card available in the lobby. You must provide the name of a captain and manager with ID number and phone number. You do not need to have a list of players. Registration ends at 6:00 p.m. on the closing date. (See Appendix C)
2. Speak with a Member Services clerk to find what days and times are available for play.
3. The Depart ment accepts cash, checks, Aggie bucksTM, Visa, Discover, American Express and MasterCard. Payment must accompany your entry.
   

Any faculty/staff/spouse/adult dependent eligible to purchase a Rec Membership has the option of
purchasing an Intramural Sport Pass to participate in a specific Intramural program. All individuals that
have purchased a Rec Membership are eligible to participate in the entire Intramural program. For more
information, please call 845-7826.

Intramural Assistance
Team captains and/or their designated representative may call 862-1884 weekdays between 8:00 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m. during the semester for assistance in resched uling games, checking posted results or any
other inquiries regarding Intramural Sports.

Intramurals On-line
The Rec Sports web site is your source for Intramural news, schedules and updates. Brackets for all sports
will be posted during the regular playing season and for playoffs. You can find everything from event
entry information and procedures to scores from the previous nights’ activities. Check us out for all your
Intramural needs.

Free Agent Program
The Free Agent Program will help individuals become participants in the Intramural program by having
their name available to team captains looking for additional players. If you have an interest in a particular
sport or activity and do not belong to a specific team, come to the Member Services Desk in the Rec
Center while entries are open for a particular sport to fill out a Free Agent Form. Contact the IM Help
Desk at 862-1884 for additional information.

Rain Out/Information Number
Participants in the Intramural program may have games canceled due to inclement weather. If this happens,
individuals may call the Rain Out and Information Number at 845-2625 after 3:00 p.m. on the day
of the contest. A recorded message will indicate whether or not games are being played. Other general
information may also be obtained from this recording.

Intramural Awards
All-University champions in Class A will be awarded an Intramural champion t-shirt. All-University Class
B champions will be awarded a Class B t-shirt. All-University Class C champions will receive certificates
suitable for framing, upon request.

New Intramural Programs
The Rec Sports staff is always looking to add new activities to our current program schedule. If you have
any activities or sports that you would like to see the Department offer as part of the Intramural program,
please call the Associate Director for Intramurals at 862-1856.
