Updating Your Club Web Site

You will have to download the new file transfer software if you do not already have it. It downloads to your desk top as WinSCP3.EXE. When you run the program, the WinSCP Login box comes up.
In the Session box, in the Host name field, type Recsports.tamu.edu. If Port number field is blank, type in 22. In the user name field, type in “recsports\” followed by your club name (your User name) and type your password into the password box. If you do not know your User ID or password, contact Jessica Morris at jmorris@rec.tamu.edu.
Click on Directories in the left hand window.
Into the Remote directory field, type “\inetpub\clubs\” followed by your club name.
This will set the directory in the remote window to your home directory.
If you will be using this current computer frequently for your file transfer operations, you may click on the Save button and create a profile so that you will not have to type in all these parameters each time you login. Please be aware that if you save this profile on a work station in the Sports Club office or in a computer lab, you will be saving a file with the password to your Sports Club account in an un-secure manner.
Once you have entered your information, click “Login”.
Now the WINSCP3 window comes up that shows your files on your local and network drives. The left hand window shows the drives/directories on your local machine and the right hand window should show you your web files on the server.
You will first need to locate the files that you are going to upload.
Click on down arrow that the black pointer on the left side box indicates. The drives on the local work station will be listed in a pull down box. Select the drive and directory where the files that are to be uploaded are located.
The window on the right should be the directory where your club’s web site files are located.
At this point, you can just drag and drop to move files from one window to the other. Click on the files to upload, or download, and drag them from one window to the other.
