Giving Back

The Department of Recreational Sports, once known as the Intramural Department, has an active development program designed to provide support opportunities to all of our programs and facilities.

If you have developed an interest in showing your support through a donation to the Department of Rec Sports or for more information, please contact James Welford, Associate Director of Development at 979-862-1856 or e-mail jwelford@rec.tamu.edu.

We offer several key donor opportunities:

  • Department of Recreational Sports Endowed Scholarship
Giving Back to this scholarship provides financial support to under graduate recreational sports employees in recognition of leadership and academic achievement.
  • Walk of Champions Endowment Brick Program
The area known as the Walk of Champions is located in front of the Student Recreation Center. The Walk of Champions features bricks engraved with the names of students, employees and friends of A&M. The values promoted by the University-Leadership, fair play, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity-have been known by generations as the Aggie Spirit. Recreational Sports and the Student Recreation Center embody the Aggie Spirit by providing all Aggies with the facilities and programs to challenge themselves test their limits and gain the benefits of sportsmanship. Together we can ensure that future Aggies become great leaders' one brick at a time.
