Club Training and Services

The Texas A&M Fencing Club provides a location and the resources for beginning and experienced fencers to participate in competitive fencing.  We have skilled members in all three weapons:  foil, epee, and sabre.  We also provide training for students who are interested in competitive fencing.

In addition to receiving training from club members and coaches, beginning students will have access to club weapons and equipment for practice and will be allowed to check out equipment for use at intercollegiate events.

New Members

The club is always looking for new members.  We will train beginners and are happy to bring experienced fencers on board.  For information about joining, please e-mail one of the club contacts listed above.  You can also come by personally to our booth at one of the semester Open Houses or stop by practice at our scheduled time and someone will be happy to talk with you.

Intercollegiate Fencing

The Aggie Fencing Team competes in intercollegiate fencing events in all three weapons among all schools in our section as well as Intercollegiate National events.  Some of the collegiate clubs in the Southwest Section include The University of Texas - Austin, The University of Texas - San Antonio, The University of Houston, Baylor University, Southwest Texas State University, and The University of North Texas.

Intercollegiate Nationals Schedule:

2003 - Gainsville, FL
2004 - New Hampshire
2005 - California
2006 - South Carolina
2007 - Indiana

2008 - Northampton, MA

Sectional Events

We also participate in Section Cup events, which are available to all members of the United States Fencing Association, giving students the opportunity to compete within a broad spectrum of national fencers.  The Section Circuit Cup consists of six events, generally taking place in Austin, College Station, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Shreveport, and New Orleans.

National Events

Students will have the option of participating in several Divisional and Sectional tournaments geared towards different skill levels.  Sectionals and Divisionals also take place towards the end of the spring and allow fencers to qualify for Summer Nationals, held yearly at different locations across the US.
