Rec Sports is dedicated to helping our patrons get the training they need to meet job requirements and achieve personal goals.

Class Description: An eighteen-hour training program designed to prepare students to audition to lead Group RecXercise classes. Participants will receive a FIT manual and a music CD for practice. Audition will consist of a 12-minute mini class of step, kickbox, or floor aerobics on Sunday, April 29, 1pm – 4pm.

Class Description: Barre Above is an innovative and challenging barre experience that seamlessly weaves together traditional muscle sculpting barre choreography with exhilarating cardio segments to define and challenge the whole body. Lauren George, Texas A&M graduate, will be leading this incredible training day. 11 CECs AFAA, 1.1 CEUs ACE, and 1.1 CEUs NASM.

Class Description: YogaFit is based on the ancient fitness science of hatha yoga, and blends balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format. YogaFit overcomes the mystery of yoga by delivering a practical, user-friendly style, which is accessible, understandable, and doable by individuals at any level of fitness.

CPR is a life-saving skill, and you never know when you’ll need it. Rec Sports offers a variety of certification training courses to help you be prepared!
All classes are taught by AHA-certified instructors. Class participants must register at the Rec Center Member Services desk prior to taking the class. Class dates/times may be subject to change. Class limit: 16.
Spring 2018 Class Schedule & Information
Class Description: Learn core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation (AED) use. This class is for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.
